In The Dressing Room at Anthropologie

Happy Friday ladies. Yesterday’s post on boho-chic wardrobe essentials inspired me to visit our local Anthropologie and try some on some new things so here’s a mini dressing room try-on session at Anthropologie.

If you’re new here, welcome. A dressing room diary is when I go into a local store for a try-on session so you can see what’s new and how it looks on a woman over 25. For reference, I am 5’4″ and weigh around 138 lbs with broad shoulders and straight hips. I have a long torso and arms so I often buy one size larger on top. I try on clothes in colors and shapes that may or may not flatter me so you can see what’s in the stores and get some styling ideas. I tell you what sizes I am wearing to help you understand how things run.

As always, you can click the red text for more info and to shop the item at no additional cost to you.

WEARING – CLOTH AND STONE DRESS

This tie-dye midi dress is a melange of gray and blue stripes. It has a handy snap at the wrap front which keeps it from gaping when you bend over. It comes in sizes XXS to XXL. I’m wearing a medium. The slit on the leg makes it easy to walk but is still modest. I’m seeing lots of dresses these days that you’d have to wear pants under because the slits are so high.

WEARING – PILCRO TEE / MAEVE PANTS

This Pilcro double V-neck tee comes in six colors in standard, petite, and plus in sizes XXS to 3X. I grabbed a medium that is too snug for me so I would go up one size in this lighter color. I tucked it in so you could see the waistband on the pants.

I just love these printed wide-leg pants. They come in three patterns, standard, petite, and tall. I’m wearing a small and needed an extra small because they run quite generously. These are such great flowy pants that you could dress up or down. I see them with sandals but I can also see them dressed up as palazzo pants for a dressier occasion.

WEARING – BY ANTHROPOLOGIE SHIRTCITIZENS OF HUMANITY ELLA JEANS

This handkerchief cotton button-down shirt is the prettiest lilac color and also comes in white. It has self-covered buttons and has an allover embroidery which gives it a feminine, summery feel. It comes in standard, petite, and plus. XXS to XL. I’m wearing a standard medium which is quite loose so think I could go with the petite medium because it’s intended to be loose.

These citizen of humanity jeans are a nice light wash with slight distressing. They come in sizes 23 to 34, I’m wearing a 29 which is a little bit larger on me so I would go down to a 28. They have a great high rise and slim fit.

WEARING – T.LA TANK / MAEVE WIDE-LEG PANTS

These fabulous wide-leg pants come in standard, petite, tall, and plus, sizes 0-26W. I’m wearing a standard size 8 which has a 32″ inseam that I have folded under. The petite’s have a 30″ inseam so they’re perfect for wearing with the “seen everywhere this year”, clogs, or platforms this spring. This scoopneck layering tank top comes in 10 colors, XXS-XL. I’m wearing a medium.

WEARING – PILCRO TEE / BY ANTHROPOLOGIE SKIRT

This A-line ruffled midi skirt is available in this blue aura print, in standard, petite, or plus. It comes in sizes 00–26W. The slit is pretty high but it’s not too high to wear without a pair of leggings underneath it. I am wearing a 6 which is too snug for me so I would go up to an eight.

WEARING –  MAEVE BLOUSE  /  CITIZENS OF HUMANITY ELLA JEANS

This embroidered button-down is a linen/cotton blend with beautiful embroidery all over the fabric. It comes in sizes XXS-XL. I’m wearing a medium so it’s nice and roomy and runs true to size. The classic in me would pair this with straight white jeans and some blue sandals 🙂

WEARING – MAEVE BLOUSEMAEVE PANTS “THE COLETTE”

I just love this outfit. This button-down tie-front shirt comes in standard, petite, or plus, sizes 0 to 26W. It’s 100% cotton. The cuffs have a blue and white stripe on the inside. They show it styled with this embroidered cami which is adorable. I’m wearing a standard in 8 which is too large but since it’s cropped, I’d stay with the standard and go down to the 6.

I love these wide-leg pants! The nautical motif is very popular every spring/summer, but more so this year because it’s on-trend. They come in standard, tall, and plus. The petite is sold out but I like this length just fine! These are selling out fast for good reason. It’s hard to explain, but they have a timeless quality to them so they will be wearable year after year.

WEARING – WOVEN FLORAL RUANA / T.LA TANK TOP  /  CITIZENS OF HUMANITY ELLE JEANS

This beautiful ruana is a quintessential boho piece that would have come home with me if I were several inches taller. The subtle, spotted animal print is black and white, dotted with random flowers and it’s light and flowy shape will elevate anything you pair it with.
