MY FAVORITE DENIM PANTS
MY FAVORITE DENIM PANTS
Happy Saturday! We made it back from Ohio and the celebration of life for my daughter-in-law’s mother, and we are dragging today. It was so strange being in Columbus and realizing that we would never see her again. The event was so beautiful and sweet, and my son did an incredible job speaking about her. I will tell you that the woman had so many good friends and one in particular that, honestly, I think is a real true angel. Have you ever attended a funeral or celebration of life and felt that you want to be a better friend or family member? I left thinking I needed to step up more to my friends and family. I get so busy with the day-to-day that I sometimes forget to check on people. When I think of someone, instead of waiting, I am going to call or send a text! I think our friends and family need to know that we think about them. We didn’t get to spend much time with the grandkids. Our oldest was sick with a flu bug the first night we were there, and the other was playing with her cousins. I am so thankful that we plan to see them later this month.
Ohio is a beautiful state, but man, was I ready to get back to the warmth of Texas. It was so cold when we left yesterday. It’s so fun to see all of the trees and flowers starting to bloom in Dallas. I have been wearing these denim pants on repeat lately. I seem only to buy jeans, but these were different from any of my other pairs. I love the contrast stitching in the front and back, and they hit me perfectly at the waist. I also feel like they are a little dressier for nighttime. These pants are so comfortable! I hope you all are trying wider style jeans this Spring. I’m not saying that skinny jeans are out, but I think the wider and looser styles are more of what you will see. I am so here for them! I paired these pants with a white button-down and a leather moto jacket. I bought the platform wedge to wear with some of the longer pants and jeans I have bought recently. They are high (3 1/2 inches), but I think they look good with this cropped pair too. Thank goodness they are a platform wedge because that heel height is getting a little too high for me!
Since I am talking about looser style jeans, I also wanted to bring up some other styles that are more “in style” than skinny jeans that you might consider adding to your collection (if you do wear jeans).
We are off to a luncheon today for special family friends who just adopted a baby girl. They have a little boy but could not have another biological child. We cannot wait to meet this little girl! I need the rest of the afternoon to try and organize my month because it’s already so busy. I pulled into a parking spot in front of a Christian book store yesterday and glanced in the window. This book caught my eye, and I walked right in and bought it. I think it was meant for me to see it!
I hope you all have a great weekend! Stay well and be safe! xx
