Restyling a Mannequin- Color Play

Happy Friday, ladies. I’m seeing so much pink mixed with orange this spring, the combination is starting to grow on me. This warm/cool combination feels almost expected now, so when I spotted this mannequin, I felt a misfire.

The eyelet top is peach and the tuxedo stripe down the jeans is pink. That combo seems jarring to me because the pink overpowers the peach.

Since you asked, here I am wearing what the mannequin is modeling.

The eyelet top comes in 4 colors, this is the Caspian pink which looks like peach, especially next to the hot pink stripe on the jeans.

First, I switched to a simple pink and white striped tee in the same bright pink. I like how the white cardi picks up the white in the stripe on the jeans and the tee. The pink striped tee doesn’t seem to have gotten to the website yet, but it was in my store.

Next, I tried the jeans with a whimsical tee that has touches of hot pink, a classic white blouse, and a long, hot pink cardigan. The cardigan is a deeper pink than the stripe on the jeans. Both feel fresher with the jeans than the peach.

My persnickety eye would not be happy wearing the peach top with these jeans, but I could wear any of the other options I tried. What do you think?
