Monday Musings- Honey, Books, and Bees

Happy Monday and Memorial Day if you live in the US. I know most people think of today as the kick-off to summer, and it is, but more importantly, it’s the day we celebrate those brave military men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and died in service to our country. They and their family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just Finished reading

SUMMER WIVES

I was totally absorbed in this book last week and enjoyed it immensely. It took a few chapters for me to understand all the characters but once I did, I was totally engrossed in the story and couldn’t put it down. It has a little romance, some mystery, plus a touch of suspense in a beautiful setting. It was a fun escape.

Honey in skincare

My skin has been drier than usual lately. I’ve made a conscious effort to increase my water intake but it needed more so I dove down the Google rabbit hole for some ideas. It turns out they’re putting honey in lots of skin products because it has antibacterial properties, plus it’s a humectant.

HONEY POTION PLUS CERAMIDE HYDRATION MASK / CLEAN BEE FACIAL CLEANSER

I decided to try two products that contain it. I’ve been a devoted user of the Farmacy Clean Green Cleansing Balm for several years and know I love their line so I decided to try their Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser and the Honey Potion Plus Hydration Mask. The wash leaves my skin very clean but not feeling stripped…and has a delicate honey scent…FYI, it does not taste like honey…I checked :).

This Honey Potion Plus Ceramide Hydration Mask looks just like a jar of honey and has the same thick consistency. Once you apply it to your face, it starts warming up and transforms into a white lotion.

Here it is after I massaged it in, and yes, my robe has bees on it…I do have a thing for bees 🙂

You massage the mask in for 2-3 minutes then let it sit for 15. It’s loaded with lots of great things for your skin, including pro-vitamin B, royal jelly extract, propolis extract, Centella Asiatica extract (antiinflammatory and scavenges free radicals), plus niacinamide which makes it very soothing and it leaves my face feeling soft and pampered. I  love it!

Outfit of the week

In keeping with my honey theme, I have a natural fiber outfit in soft honey tones.
