PRETTY IN PINK FOR SPRING
Today is my birthday!!! Woohoo! Do you still celebrate your birthday each year? My daughter and I are starting the day off with a Stained Glass class, and we plan on going out to dinner tonight to celebrate another year around the sun. I can’t wait to try my hand at learning to do stained glass; if you already do stained glass, give me a heads-up on how hard this will be to learn.
Another reason I’m a happy camper today is; that we got an outdoor set for our screened-in porch. When we bought our house, we also purchased the furniture, which included the outdoor furniture. My taste is different from the previous owners, but we’ve been too busy, and furniture is too hard to find, to replace anything. The outdoor set is the first step in making the house a home. Here is a before and after photo.
This is a 6-pc teak set that I bought from Sam’s Club. I still need to replace the outdoor rug and get some pillows. I also plan on adding my windchimes that my mom bought me for my birthday and a fern in the corner that isn’t visible in this photo. The other furniture is in the basement right now, but I saw Joe eyeing it. I think he plans on taking some, or all of it, to the airport, so he will have a comfortable place to sit down while he is there.
I love this bright and cheery outfit that looks dressy but is also casual. Have you noticed that casual seems to be a vibe with me lately? Casual is fitting my lifestyle, but I still insist on looking my best; I want to be comfortable at the same time. This hot pink Classic Cotton Crewneck Tee is perfect for Spring and Summer, it is soft and comfortable, and the quality seems excellent. What else do you need when a top meets all of those criteria? I’m wearing a large, and the fit is great. It’s loose and relaxed but not big and baggy. The tee comes in sixteen colors, so I bet you will find several perfect for you.
The Taupe Casual Linen Blazer was one that I had high hopes I would like since I need to replace mine that is old and getting dingy. The blazer fits me fine, I’m wearing a size 10, but I didn’t LOVE the blazer. That means that I’m still on the lookout for a Taupe blazer. Here are a few that I’ve found that looks promising.
This linen blazer comes in a few other colors, and I like the orange and the light blue ones. Here is the length of the blazer from the side view.
The star of this outfit is the Lovely Spring Oblong Scarf. It is very lightweight, so it doesn’t add heat. I want my scarves to be extremely thin in the summer, so they don’t burn me up. I’ve tied this scarf several ways, and I think I like this way the best. I also added the Mother’s Day Box Bracelet Set in Natural, the Adeline Hoop Earrings, and the Phonix Wrap Ring in Vintage Gold.
These are the same $20 jeans that I wore yesterday. These High Rise Slim Boyfriend Crop Jeans are modern-looking, and I’ll be wearing them all summer long. They are comfortable and relaxed, and I love the distressing as a style detail. I’m wearing a size 8, and I love the fit.
Espadrilles are my shoe choice for summer. I love the wrap wedge heel, and they are the easiest heels to walk in. This is a canvas pair in the color Flax which will go with anything. I think these run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
Wish me luck on my Stained Glass Adventure! I hope it is fun and that I come away with a cute creation to hang on my screened-in porch. Joe snuck a photo of me this morning when I was relaxing in the cool morning air.
I think I’m going to like this set-up a lot!!!
