TUESDAY INSIDE THE DRESSING ROOM TRY-ON HAUL WITH CHICOS
My daughter and I went shopping last Friday, and we decided to do a try-on haul from Chicos. The weather was nasty, so we couldn’t take photos outside, and we opted for the next best thing. When I say the weather was terrible, I am not joking. On our way home, we were going to stop at Sam’s Club to grab some groceries, but a Tornado Warning Alert hit our phones, so we turned around and headed home. We were lucky that a tornado didn’t happen, but we did get hail.
This is what the sky looked like as we started home. We were hoping that the blue skies would stick around since that was the direction we were heading.
That didn’t happen, and this was what the sky looked like when we were a couple of miles from the house. I was happy that we made it back before the rain and hail started!
I think everything that I picked for this post is casual and relaxed. Fashion that looks great but is casual and perfect to be worn every day. These outfits will look great for shopping, having coffee with a neighbor, or having lunch with a friend.
As soon as I walked into the store, this No-Iron Linen Confetti Print Shirt caught my eye. The bright colors speak my language, but the print is not overwhelming. This shirt is 100% linen, but it is in a no-iron linen fabric, so it won’t wrinkle like the linen we used to wear. I’m wearing a size 1, which is perfect for me. I stacked two Warm Multi-Seed Bead Stretch Bracelets for extra color, and I wore a Mother’s Day Neutral Bracelet Set c/o Chicos to match the shirt’s background.
I loved the mirror in the background. That gives you an idea of how the outfit looks and the length of the items. The Button Hem Crop Jeggings have a great button detail to stand out. These jeggings will catch people’s eye; they’ll notice that you are a fashion-oriented person. Details make all of the difference in making a blah outfit look stylish. I’m wearing a size .5, which I was afraid would be too tight, but they fit me great.
I loved the jeggings, and I thought I would style them with another shirt. The Confetti Shirt was worn loose and untucked, but I decided to do a front tie with this shirt to show the jeggings better.
The Hummingbird Striped Linen Shirt is whimsical and so adorable. I love the pale pink and white stripe, but the tiny hummingbirds make this shirt. The fabric is the same no-iron linen, and I am giving this a huge thumbs up since ironing isn’t on my agenda. I’m wearing a size 1, and the fit is great with no gaping buttons.
I was so busy showing you the button detail of the Button Hem Crop Jeggings that I forgot to tell you that these are pull-on. Like linen fabric, pull-on pants have improved over the years. Used to, you would have puckers all around the jeans, and they made you look frumpy and older. The pull-on styles now can even fool you into thinking they button. These are comfortable, and they look great.
I love this casual outfit. It is a perfect beach outfit, but it will be great for all spring and summer. This outfit would look great for a post I’m working on about Coastal Grandma style. I’ve ordered the clothing, so I’ll share that with you as soon as I can take photos. All you have to add to this outfit is a bucket hat, and you will be Coastal Grandma approved, which is a good thing.
This navy Tassel Trim Pullover is adorable, and I love the unique detail of the tassels. I’ve seen tops with tassels at the hem, but this top has tassels at the neckline, the hem, and up the sides. Plus, just for good measure, the sleeves have an eyelet trim. I’m wearing a size 1, and it is perfect.
I can’t tell you how much I love these Striped Pull-On Button Hem Crops! These are 100% lightweight linen, so you will stay cool and comfortable this summer. Everyone who doesn’t like wearing shorts needs to look at these crops. They will keep you cool and cover your legs at the same time. I wore these with navy, but they would also look great with a bright color, like pink, red, or green. I’m wearing a size .5, and they fit great.
I love wearing yellow and navy together, so I added this Lemon Stretch Bracelet Set. Chico’s jewelry is gorgeous this spring, and I kept grabbing lots of pieces to wear. I also added the matching Lemon Drop Earrings, which give movement as I walk.
I couldn’t show you the bracelet and earrings without showing you the matching Lemon Necklace. This collection has wooden and Mother of Pearl Beads, and all of Chico’s jewelry is nickel-free.
I wanted to style a pair of Bermuda Shorts, so I’ve got three different tops to style with them.
The Calypso Coral Stand Neck Blouse is a beautiful color. This lightweight blouse is one you could wear with jeans, or to the office with dress pants. The smocked stand-up collar doesn’t show in my photos because I added a necklace and turned it down, but you can see it on the website. I also like the bracelet elastic sleeves, I was afraid they would be tight, but they were loose and not tight. I’m wearing a size 1, and it is a great fit.
The Adjustable Wood Bead Necklace makes a huge statement but is lightweight. The beads are resin, so they didn’t weigh a lot. I love that you can adjust the necklace longer if you want, or wear it short as I have it here. Here are a couple more necklaces that include the same colors.
When I grabbed the two blouses, I thought they were the same, only in different colors.
This Textured Stitch Blouse is entirely different, and I think I like it the best. I love the stitching on the shoulders, and I like that this blouse doesn’t have a tie at the neckline. It is the same lightweight fabric, so it can be dressed up or down.
I didn’t tuck either of these blouses in, but I could have easily. Here is a look from the back so you can see the length and how the stitching extends down the back. I’m wearing a size 1, and it fits great.
Here is the last look for the post. This is a Linen Paisley Tunic Top in a gorgeous yellow color. I love the color, and the length is perfect for the Bermuda Shorts. I’m wearing a size 1, and the top isn’t tight.
These are the No-Stain Pull-On Shorts in Alabastor. These are powered by Stain-Repel, Bright-White™ technology, they offer a stay-true hue that stays white longer and repels water-based spills. They have an 11″ inseam, and I love this length when worn with heels. I’m wearing a .5 in the shorts, and they fit great. If an 11″ inseam is too long for you, there is a 10″ version that has several colors to choose from.
