TUESDAY TRY-ON HAUL FOR SUMMER DRESSES WITH BELK
I’m thrilled that you liked the Try-On Haul with Old Navy last Tuesday! These hauls take a lot of time, but they are the best way to showcase many products while they are still available on the website. I know it is frustrating to want an item and see that it has already sold out. Hopefully, that won’t happen today, and I’m crossing my fingers that you find something you love.
For sizing reference, I am 5’6″ tall, weigh between 145-150, and I wear an M-L in tops, an M-L in dresses, and an 8-10 in pants.
Belk is such a large store that it can be overwhelming when you walk through the doors. Today, I’m showing you summer dresses (some long and some short) that should work for almost any event you have upcoming. I’m not showing any cocktail or eventing attire, but if that is something you need me to do in the future, leave a comment below.
I’m starting with a Lauren Ralph Lauren Floral Crinkled Cotton Dress. This was one of my top three picks from this session! I love the beautiful print, and the colors are great for summer. This dress would work great for a casual summer wedding, reunion, date, church function, or anywhere you want to look put together.
Here is the back of the dress. The smocked waistband is flattering, and I love how feminine the flutter sleeves and tiered ruffles look.
I’m wearing a size 10, and this is the best size for me.
I love this V-Neck Tiered Striped Maxi Dress. This dress is so soft and comfortable, and I love the different tiers of the design. It is much more interesting than if the stripes were head to toe without the tiers. I find a cap sleeve one of the most flattering sleeves, and most women can wear this sleeve. If you need to add a jacket or a cardigan, you shouldn’t have any issue with this sleeve.
If you hold your weight in your stomach, this dress style hides that problem. The dress doesn’t touch me anywhere, and I like it like that. Lol!
This Multi-Blue Plaid Sleeveless Ruffle Dress is adorable. It is linen, but it feels very soft and stretchy. I think it must be a blend, but it doesn’t say on the website. I have a bright pink dress made like this, and it is one of my favorite dresses of all time. It never fails to get compliments when I wear it, and I’m sure this one will be the same.
Here is the view from the back. You can see that the dress has pockets, so that is a huge plus for me. I like the length of the dress, which is 34″ in a misses. This dress comes in another color choice, and I saw lots of other prints, colors, and lengths from this brand. You can find them for misses, petite, and plus sizes by clicking here.
I’m wearing a large, but a medium would have fit me better.
I haven’t styled a handkerchief dress in a while, so I thought I would show you this Solid Tie-Neck Midi Dress by Sam Edelman. This is a brightly colored dress, but it is perfect for when you don’t want to blend into the background. I love the smocked waist and shoulders, and the handkerchief hemline adds a unique detail that you don’t see all that often.
Here is the photo of the back of the dress.
I was surprised how much I liked this color once I put it on, but it looks great with my skin tone. I’m wearing a large, and it is too big for me. I was afraid the smocked waistband would fit small, but it doesn’t, and a medium would have worked better.
A Button-Down Shirt Dress is a great versatile dress. You can wear this as I have it here, belt it, wear it open over a tee and jeans/shorts, over a bathing suit as a coverup, or as a long tunic over leggings. This is the Rose Dot color, but you’ll see my styling this design later in a neutral color also.
Here is the dress from the back. You can see that the dress is higher in the front than in the back. Also, the dress has pockets, so that is a plus in my book.
I’m wearing a large, and since it is an oversized dress, I could wear a medium also. I think either size would work for this style.
This is the Tan Animal Print Halter Maxi Dress that I mentioned above. This shade doesn’t suit my skin tone as well as the Rose Dot dress above. However, just because it doesn’t suit me, doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t work for you.
Here is the look from the back and side. You can see the high slit that goes up each side in this photo.
This is probably my least favorite, the color doesn’t suit me, and the style doesn’t fit me well. I’m wearing a large, so it is too big for me, but I’m not sure I would like it any better if it was smaller.
This Short Sleeve Cotton Gauze V-Neck Ombre Dress is my favorite of all dresses. The description calls this a grey dip, but it is a blue dip in my book. Plus, the model makes this dress look like it is super short, but I’m 5’6″ tall, and I think the dress is a great length for me.
And it has POCKETS!!! Lol! Here is a view that shows the side and back of the dress.
I plan on wearing this to my granddaughter’s ballet recital this weekend, and I’ll be comfortable and cute all at the same time. I’m wearing a medium, which is the best size for me. It is a relaxed fit, so the dress doesn’t show any lumps or bumps.
Oh my! Look at all of the details on each tier of this Sleeveless Square Neck Maxi Dress! This is a Rayon/Cotton blend dress that is soft against my skin. The material is quite heavy, and the dress feels very substantial.
Obviously, I’m not wearing a strapless bra, and you can see some of my bra straps in the photo. This is the bra that I wear all of the time, but this is one that I just ordered. It is for wearing when your V-Neck is too low, but you don’t want to add a layering cami or tee. I ordered it in black and rose, and I can’t wait to get it in the mail.
I’m wearing a large in this maxi, but I think a medium might have fit better. This maxi is one of my favorites in this session.
Cute, Flirty, and Fun!!! I love this statement Multi-Striped Smocked Bodice Dress. I think this sundress is perfect for almost any occasion, and any color would match it. Lol! I know some ladies aren’t a fan of the tiered dresses that are trending now because they are too oversized. The smocked bodice takes care of that issue for you.
Here is a look at the dress from the back.
You can see on my face that this dress is a favorite of mine. I’m wearing a large, and it fits me well.
We have come to the end of the looks for today. The final dress is another Ruffle Neck Dress from Crown & Ivy. The aqua color is beautiful and perfect for summer, and the dress also comes in white and coral.
Here is a look at the dress from the back.
You can see the ruffled neck and print design better in this photo. I had hoped the metallic specks would show up, but I guess you have to see the dress in person. I’m wearing a large, and it fits me great.
Here is a recap with all of the links to the dresses.
