THIS OR THAT WITH COMFORTABLE AND ACTIVE DRESSES

I think the little things in life make us the happiest. Later today, I should get a package in the mail that I am so thrilled about I could bust! Joe and I will be celebrating our 36th anniversary in November, and on our 10th anniversary, he bought me a black opal ring that I had been looking at online.

Since then, I’ve worn the ring every day, but in 2020, the ring broke on the inside and lost some of the stones. Because of COVID, the jeweler was shut down, so they told me to wait until 2021. Things didn’t improve until the first of this year, so I mailed my ring off to be repaired in February. Opals are exceptionally delicate, and the jeweler had to send it off because they would have to heat the ring to fix it. It has taken this long to find someone to do the repairs and for me to finally get it back. I can’t wait to slip the ring on my finger again; let’s hope it fits!!!

No, it’s not Thursday, I’m a day late doing my THIS or THAT post. Today’s post showcases a few comfortable, casual, and cool dresses for summer. This outfit is a tee and skort, and I think this would look great for any on-the-go outing, such as a picnic or taking the grandkids to the park. This Blue Curacao Split-Neck Cotton Tee is pretty and soft, and I LOVE this turquoise blu color. If you have never tried a tee from Talbots, you are in for a treat. The tee is such good quality, and it will last you for years if you can manage not to drop food on it. (whoops, I’m talking to me, not you. Lol!) I’m wearing a medium in this tee, and it fits great.

Here is the view so that you can see the length of the top. It is a great length and hits me slightly below my hip.

The Striped Pom Pom Straw Tote is super cute and summer-ready. The tote matches the tee, and I love the oversized fluffy tassels. This is an excellent tote for the pool or beach, but it is too stylish to limit it to those. I think it is a great summer tote, and it will look great all summer long.

Here is a look at how the shirt looks with a half-tuck instead of leaving it loose. This Canvas A-Line Skirt is in a fun and colorful print. An A-Line Skirt is universally flattering, and almost everyone can wear this style. There are so many colors in this skirt you are bound to have something in your closet that will go with it. I’m wearing a size 8, and the skirt fits great.

I added these Raffia Seashell Slides to my look because they have a hint of turquoise on them. However, the photo is blown out, and you can’t see that detail very well. I’ll add a picture from the website so you can see the blue better. The sandals are comfortable, and they run true to size.

Here is the THAT outfit, but I’m still sticking with the comfortable, casual, and cool theme. Dresses are a great way to stay cool in the summer since the wind can get to your legs. Plus, call me lazy, but I love a one-and-done outfit.

This Cross Back Crush Dress is super comfy, and this is a perfect activewear dress. This dress has plenty of give, so it moves with you as you walk or sit. The dress is well constructed, and the material is nice and thick, so no peek-a-boo shows while wearing this. I forgot to get a shot of the back, which is the unique detail, so I’ll put a photo below. I think the dress runs true to size, and I’m wearing a medium.

BTW, your bra doesn’t show through the openings.

I added my Statement Hoop Earrings, 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace and Elton Gold Cuff Bracelet in Veined Turquoise to the dress. This is a casual dress, and that’s how I would wear it 90% of the time, but I wanted to show you how to dress it up if the need arose.

This Pennie Shoulder Bag is so stinking cute!!! I love the pop of bold pink against the caramel bag. This is a perfect way to add some whimsey and color to an outfit without being overboard. You can carry the handbag as a satchel or use it as a crossbody. It has quite a bit of room in the bag and extra pockets on the outside for things like your AirPods or keys.

As I mentioned earlier, I would probably wear this dress casually most of the time. I would probably wear a pair of white sneakers or maybe a pair of sandals, but I wanted to give you another option today. These Ankle Strap Sandals have a low heel, which is harder to find than you would think. My sister is always asking me to give her low-heel options when she has to go to an event where she needs to dress up. These sandals would work great for her, and I know my sister, she would choose the black version. Lol! This bright Fuschia color is almost sold completely out, but the black and a royal blue are still available.

Joe was working on the driveway while I was taking my photos; that’s why it is wet in spots. I asked him to come and take a picture with me, and he agreed. I told him that I was in my “work” outfit, and he said he was in his too. Lol! I bought him this Slub-Knit Polo Shirt in several colors, and he loves wearing them for his everyday look. His shoes are by Skechers, and he has these in three colors. He loves them and will wear a pair every day. I need to order him some more since these are starting to look worn out.
