TUESDAY TRY ON HAUL WITH TALBOTS
Welcome back to another Tuesday Try-On Haul! I coerced my daughter into going with me to Johnson City, and little did she know that I had a couple of try-on hauls that I wanted to get photographed. The last time we went to JC, a tornado watch alert hit us on our way home. This time, it looked like it was going to storm again, and when I pointed it out to my daughter, she said, “hurry up; I don’t want to have to take cover in a ditch.” She’s been in Alaska too long and has forgotten what it’s like to live where it storms.
I had to start this session with this beautiful Linen Shift Dress that is perfect for the 4th of July. This dress toes the line between casual and dressy, and it looks elegant either way. I love the linen material; the dress is lined, so you don’t have to worry about wearing a slip. (can you even find those anymore) A shift dress is flattering to most women, and the split neckline helps elongate your neck.
Here is the look from the back. I’m wearing a size 10, and the dress fits great.
I am wearing more and more activewear, even if I’m sitting around. Lol! To me, active wear means that I “could” wear this for activities, but I don’t HAVE to only wear it when I’m active. Activewear is comfortable, and I want to be comfortable no matter what I do. It is a huge plus if the activewear is super cute and can be worn when my activity is going shopping. Lol! I’m not sure how many calories that burns, but it sure burns a hole in my wallet. Hahaha!
This Active Tank in a Geo Block pattern grabbed my attention because of the bright green stripe at the hem. (see photo above this one) The pattern is interesting and catches your eye, which is a great detail. Plus, I love the wide straps since my bra wouldn’t show. I did a photo with the top tucked and untucked so that you could see the difference. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me great. However, I might try a large to give me a little extra room around my waist, but I’m afraid the arm holes will be too big then.
Here is a view from the side so that you can see the length of the top when it is untucked. It hits at the hip, but it isn’t long enough to cover your bum if you want to wear it with leggings.
The Lightweight Stretch Straight Leg Crops look perfect with the top. They are super comfortable and will be great for any activity I choose. They are wrinkle-resistant and have SunWell UPF50+ to protect you from the sun while you are running around outside. I’m wearing a medium, and they fit me great.
What do you think about pairing turquoise and soft yellow together? This looks so summery, and I love the combination. I think it would also look great with a white denim jacket when the weather turns cooler.
I’m a huge fan of wearing linen in the summer. Hot and sweaty is not a good look for most of us, and linen is a fabric that helps to keep you cool. Yes, linen wrinkles, but given a choice between sweating and being a little wrinkled, I’ll choose wrinkled. This 100% Linen Band Popover in turquoise is beautiful, and I like the tab sleeves. The v-neck is one of my favorite necklines since it helps to elongate the neck, which helps you to appear thinner.
Here is the view from the side where you can see the length of the top in the back. It is long enough to wear with leggings, which would be a great look for summer.
Here is how the top looks when worn untucked. It is a nice long tunic length and would also look great with shorts.
My daughter insists that I raise my tops when showing jeans so you can see how they fit your bottom. This is not what I envisioned I would be doing when I started blogging. Lol! My daughter and I both gave these Soft Yellow Jegging Crops and big thumbs up! I’ve gotten so used to wearing relaxed jeans I was afraid I would hate the jegging fit. But, I liked the silhouette, and some tops call for tighter-fitting pants. The soft yellow color is perfect for summer, but they also come in several other colors if you can’t wear yellow.
This outfit might be my favorite of this session. The outfit is relaxed and casual but also looks put-together and polished.
Here is another lightweight 100% Linen Popover Top. I love the unique striping of the top and the different patterns. The v-neck outlined in stripes draws your eye downward and elongates your neck. The extended sleeves help create a narrower waist look, and I am all for that! I think this top runs a little big, I’m wearing a small, and it fits me great, and I have plenty of room.
Here is the view from the side so you can see the length. It is plenty long enough to wear with leggings, and you won’t have to worry about feeling exposed.
Here is the look of the tunic untucked. The pretty stripe pattern shows up better when the shirt is left out, and you can see more of the blue stripes.
I LOVE these pants! I already own these Washed-Linen Wide Leg Pants, but I wish I had sized down when I bought them. This pair is a small, and they fit me better than the mediums I purchased earlier. I’m going to watch for these to go on a major sale, and then I’ll buy the small. Lol! I really do love them that much!
I wore the pants and this Tipped V-Neck Slub Vest when I went to Asheville. The vest is thin, and you can see your pants through it, but I did a half tuck, which alleviated the issue. This is not a good photo of the vest; it is brighter than it shows here. The photo on the website is a better representation of the color.
This is another outfit that would look good for the 4th of July. I can see wearing this outfit if you are boating on the lake. I used to freeze when we would go flying down the lake or pull into those shady coves. This would also work for sitting out at night watching fireworks or making smores.
Something about this Funnel Neck Top feels like I need to be on a boat wearing this. Lol! Maybe it is the stripe pattern or the style of the top, but either way, I need to take a boat ride. Lol! This top is a little heavier than any others I’ve shown, so be sure to consider that. I’m wearing a medium, and the fit is perfect for me.
Here is the side view, which shows you the length of the top. It is also long enough to be worn with leggings.
These are a dark wash pair of Jeggings. I usually wear darker wash jeans in the fall and winter, but I thought this pair went well with the top. Since the top is loose, I wanted to wear pants with a tighter fit. I’m wearing a size 8, so I think these run true to size.
