One way around the double denim dilemma…swap out one of the blue denim pieces for something colorful!

I almost didn’t post this outfit. Not because I don’t love it (I do!) but because some of the pieces are sold out, or almost sold out. I ordered this colored denim jacket from Talbot’s the minute it went on sale, but by the time I received it, this “Cantaloupe” color was mostly gone. (The red color is still available in most Misses sizes.)

That crochet top from Everlane also went in a heartbeat. It’s still available in a lemon yellow/off white stripe. I really like the bit of texture it adds to the outfit, without being too bulky or heavy. (Jeans, jewelry & sandals are still available. Previously wore the jeans HERE.)

Mixing blue and white, black, gray, or colored denim is one way to sidestep the Canadian tuxedo look, if that’s not your thing. If it is, I like to mis-match blue denim pieces, so it looks less deliberate.

A refreshing summer mocktail

Refreshing summer mocktail with Spindrift Grapefruit and apple cider vinegar.

I totally stole this from my friend Karen, but I know she’ll forgive me. I’m always on the lookout for mocktails that satisfy that “cocktail hour” urge, and this one definitely does. It also has some beneficial probiotic effects. Super easy!

  • 1 can Spindrift grapefruit sparking water
  • 1-2 TBSP raw apple cider vinegar
  • squeeze of lime or lemon wedge
  • add some mint because it’s pretty

Serve over ice. C’est tout!

Two years ago, Karen encouraged me to sign up (again) for Faster Way to Fat Loss. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.
