12 Airbnbs with Pools to Soak Up Every Last Drop of Summer Left
If these balmy summer temps end up bleeding into early fall like experts are predicting, then frantically searching Airbnbs with pools to soak in the last days of radiant sunshine doesn’t seem like such a harebrained scheme after all for any upcoming fall, or pre-fall, getaways. And despite the rarified veneer of a property with a swanky pool area, booking one doesn’t necessarily mean stretching your budget beyond your means.
Airbnbs with private pools don’t have to be flashy—though some certainly are—and to prove it, we surfaced some primo sub-$300-a-night gems that include large infinity pools or smaller plunge pools for your browsing pleasure. It’s also important to note that nearly all Airbnb pools are heated or can be at an additional cost, when the temperatures start to sink. There are even homes with completely indoor pools for taking a dip any day of the year.
Whether you’re bro-ing out with friends, taking the kids on the road, or planning something vaguely romantic with a significant other, there are plenty of Airbnbs with pools at your disposal, from chic villas in Jamaica to humble beach houses in New York and South Carolina. Or, maybe you’re looking to go off-book with a desert retreat in Joshua Tree (namaste), and perhaps experience some altitude in the mountains by San Miguel de Allende. No matter where you’re traveling this fall (or right before), there are plenty of Airbnbs with pools to keep you cool. Below, some of our absolute favorites.
An epic home with a pool in Fire Island is a rom-com worthy setting in itself, but this ‘60s-era, three-bedroom Pyramid Home (heavy on views and sunlight) is really the star of the show. Book a couple nights under its soaring eaves, and you’ll not only wake up to sweeping scenes from the dunes—with the ocean air as natural A/C—but also fall asleep amidst soothing rustic wood walls. Between a spacious living area kitted out with its own fireplace, a calming blue kitchen that’s got the space to serve guests, and private office for on-the-fly Zooms, you’ll be well-taken care of for a week of business and pleasure. Outside, the main attraction is the giant saltwater pool which is flanked by three cabanas that host two additional bedrooms and a bathroom. It’s also equipped with an outdoor kitchen and fridge for pouring yourself another cold one and settling back into the hot tub. When the beach calls your name, mosey out to the isolated dunescape that’s within walking distance of your home and plant your umbrella.
The word “sanctuary” is exactly on the money for this secluded ranch-style home in the Arizona desert. Beyond the kidney-shaped infinity pool and hot tub, the kids can work out their energy practicing their swing on the 9-hole putting green on the property, or getting competitive at the bocce ball, shuffleboard, and horseshoe stations. There’s even an outdoor kitchen and bar with a gas grill (plus a chef available upon request) if BBQ’s on the menu. Inside, the high vaulted ceilings in the open living room will keep you humble, while the the separate media room with three TVs will help any sports fanatics in the group stay completely immersed in the game. When you muster the strength to peel yourself away from your temporary home, plenty more adventures await at any of the nearby hiking and mountain biking trails, wine and craft beer hops, and even sunrise and sunset hot air balloon rides.
Nature meets nurture in this two bedroom, sepia-toned oasis in Joshua Tree, where the sliding doors to the terrace open onto stark views of the desert. The pool will certainly be your North Star on the stay since the home is all about enjoying the wilderness and the connection to the outdoors. FYI: It can be heated for an additional fee of 150 bones, if the desert winds prove too chill at night. Inside, Southwestern-style interiors (complete with woven wall hangings, blankets, and rugs) play off the pristine white walls and black accents. It’s all a calming place to wind down, take a dip, and enjoy a hike after a long Q3 spent absolutely grinding.
Even if sun’s not in the forecast, there’s still an abode with an indoor pool, plus some LED lights and a fountain, that’ll let you enjoy year-round Marco Polo. This five-bedroom Placerville pad set on five acres of land is an ideal place for quality time with the homies for a bachelor party, since there’s a game room featuring ping pong and pool, plus a basement with ski ball and a large TV for gaming and movies (the works!). In the cooler months, you don’t even need to leave the premises to enjoy a weekend getaway. But if you do venture off the property, 12 miles of hiking trails await you just 15 minutes away at Cronan Ranch Regional Trails Park. Or, if you’re hankering for a cider doughnut and some fresh air, take the scenic route to Apple Hill for some apple picking.
Napa, who? Just one hour outside of Portland, you can rent this beautiful home set on a 30-acre estate in the middle of the Anahata vineyard, blessed with a very respectably-sized pool. The only thing stopping you from drinking a glass of red in the 3-foot section is a wine opener, so spend the days lounging by the pool surrounded by views of Van Duzer Corridor and Temperance Hill. The interiors of the home are not so shabby either, with views from the main bedroom overlooking the serene hills and farmland in the area. If you’re hosting a large group, do your best Ina Garten impression in the chef’s kitchen to prep a fancy meal around the eight-person dining table.

After a day on the beach or gorging on fried food like the locals (which you can get to using the golf cart or bikes provided on property), crack open a beer and head to the rooftop patio to watch the sunset over the water. Days spent at home are just as good here as traipsing out, between the private swimming pool, four very Southern patios on different levels of the house, and large interior spaces swathed in minimal, modern furnishings.

A true surfer’s paradise, this modern full-service villa overlooking Playa Hermosa is just a short drive away from Playa Dominical, the world-renowned spot which hosts various surf competitions year-round. While you’ll need a 4×4 car to reach the main road and beach, as the villa is located on a steep unpaved road on a hill, it’ll be worth the trek. Back at the villa, enjoy unobstructed views from the sliding glass doors that open up to an infinity pool, a garden terrace immersed in the jungle, and the ocean itself. If whale watching is more your speed, you can even go long with a telescope from the comfort of your (temporary) home. Surf’s up, order’s up.
You may not immediately associate Canada with your next sunny escape, but this sleek, contemporary oasis in Cap-à-l’Aigle, Charlevoix (with views of the St-Laurent river and the bay of La Malbaie) may convince you otherwise. The sprawling, nine-bedroom property comes complete with a sauna, heated pool, outdoor hot tub, and wood fireplace that are perfect for a calming wellness retreat out in nature—but not like, too far out there. Inside, the home features a giant kitchen with a fondue set and raclette set that’ll let you cosplay as Québécois for the weekend, and houses eight adults (plus six children) between the four bedrooms and modern bunk room. When the kids nod off to sleep, bust open the bar set, but not before asking the hosts for their local gin recommendations.

After you’ve returned from a day exploring nature, lay back for a soak in the indoor copper tub overlooking the wild terrain. Or, slide open the glass doors for a dip in the small solar-heated pool surrounded by olive and pomegranate trees. If you need any additional excuses to stay home, inquire about booking a private in-home masseuse for an extra fee, which will really take your OOO time over the top.
