2022 FALL AND WINTER COATS FOR EVERY TYPE OF WEATHER
Now that it is officially fall, I’m going to say the phrase I’ve been dying to say…Happy Fall, Y’all!!! I absolutely love fall weather, clothing, and decorations. But, I know that fall also means cooler weather that will eventually turn to COLD weather. Today I’m going to give you a chance to grab your fall and winter coats or jackets before they all sell out.
Before I show you all the fall and winter coats and jackets, I will give you the info on what I’m wearing with each item. I wanted to wear the same outfit so you could see the difference in how each coat/jacket looks. This simple outfit consists of a Relaxed T-Shirt and a pair of Low-Rise Bootcut Jeans. This t-shirt is medium weight, not see-through, but not thick. I’m wearing a large, and it feels a little bit because it is a relaxed fit and has drop shoulders.
Before you freak out because these are Low-Rise Bootcut Jeans, they aren’t the low-rider jeans that show your assets when you bend over. These jeans hit me just under my belly button, and I think they are even more flattering than the super high-rise jeans that are everywhere. These jeans have a lot of stretch, so I suggest sizing down if you are between sizes. I’m wearing my usual size 8/29, and I think I could use a smaller size. I added an Eyelet Brown Belt to break up the look and add visual interest. The eyelets let me choose the size I want and make it easy to go between low-rise and high-rise items. I’m wearing the med/large.
I didn’t get a good photo showing my Waterproof Cognac Mules, so I grabbed a screenshot so you could get a better look at them. These have been on sale for a while, so they are limited in size. Here is the NEW VERSION of these mules, which look very similar but aren’t on sale. They run TTS: I’m wearing my usual size 9.
Fall and Winter Coats – Jackets
Fall and Winter Coats – Herringbone Moto Jacket
I’m sorry you can’t see the herringbone design of the Oatmeal Herringbone Moto Jacket. It is subtle, but you can see it much better in person. This is a lightweight jacket, so it is for those wanting a transition jacket or who live in warmer climates. This is one I would wear now until the colder weather starts, and again in the spring. I’m wearing a medium, which is still slightly big on me because of how the jacket zips. It fits me fine through the shoulders, but I would prefer a slimmer fit through the waist.
I’m showing you this handbag even though it is sold out. I promise I’m not trying to tease you, but this is a new brand that I tried, stylish and affordable. The brand is called Mango, and I found a couple of other versions that are similar I’ll link to below. This a leather, but it is floppy, not stiff. I like the boho/hobo look, but that might not be your style.
Fall and Winter Coats – Long-Sleeve Hooded Puffer Coat
I’m a HUGE fan of this Hooded Puffer Coat! It wouldn’t be a good fall and winter coat list if I didn’t include a puffer coat/jacket. This coat is for those who freeze (raising my hand) or live in cooler climates. It is water-resistant and has durable fabric with filling for warmth. It isn’t down-filled, and the price reflects that.
I like a coat/jacket with a hood since I take the dog out in the mornings, and I don’t want my hair to get wet when it rains or snows. You’re cold for a long time when you get your head wet.
Also, this hand-warming detail is a great feature. It keeps your hands warm while driving, walking, etc., and looks cool. The coat comes in lots of colors and also in Plus Sizes. I’m wearing a large, and I love the way it fits. BTW, I read some of the reviews, and someone living in Buffalo, NY, said it stood up to their cold winters.
Fall and Winter Coats – Double Breasted Faux Shearling Coat
I am excited that this Double Breasted Faux Shearling Coat is still on sale. This faux shearling coat was on sale when I purchased it, and I hate to save money if you can’t. This is a mid-weight coat that is warm but not heavy. I love the look of this coat, and I think it is a gorgeous casual fall jacket for running errands, etc.
The coat is a great length which hits me a little below my hips.
Here is the view showing the faux shearling lining. This super warm and cozy coat is also stylish and chic. I’m wearing a medium, and because it is double-breasted, it looks oversized. If you want the coat to button, then order your regular size.
Fall and Winter Coats – Double Breasted Wool Blend Peacoat
You probably saw this double-breasted peacoat in yesterday’s post. It is one of my favorite fall purchases, and this classic coat is so stylish and classy. The material is nice and heavy, but it is also soft. This is a great coat that you can wear for years.
Here is the coat’s length; for reference, I’m 5’6″ tall. I’m wearing a size 10, and the fit is spot on!
Fall and Winter Coats – Double Breast Wool Blend Reefer Coat
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this reefer coat, and it is also on sale!!! This classic style double-breasted coat is perfect for work or play. The coat is 64% wool, 26% polyester, 10% rayon, and only dry clean. This coat is classy and is a coat that you can wear for years.
Here is the side view so you can see the length. It hits me a smidge below my knees which makes it perfect for wearing with dresses. I’m wearing a medium, and the coat fits perfectly. My leather croc embossed handbag looks great with this coat. I love the richness of this handbag; it was my Valentine’s Day present from Joe, even if I did pick it out myself.
Fall and Winter Coats – Hooded Water Resistant Down Parka
Here is my pick for a fall and winter coat for those who live in colder climates. You know the North Face brand and that it stands for quality merchandise. This hooded puffer coat has a durable water-repellent finish and is filled with 550-fill power goose down. The new targeted quilting through the waist ensures a flattering, feminine fit, and this puffer manages to look chic and elegant.
This coat is super warm, and the water-repellent finish will help to keep you dry when running in and out of stores.
The puffer hood is removable, but why would you? You never know when it will rain, and pulling up your hood is easier than fiddling with an umbrella. I’m wearing a large in this coat, and the fit is perfect, with enough room for wearing a sweater underneath.
Fall and Winter Coats – Double Breasted Trench
This is another fall and winter coat that would work for those in warmer climates. The faux leather trench looks fallish but isn’t heavy or hot. It might still be too heavy if your temperatures run in the 80s or more during fall. For those looking for a stylish fall coat, this trench is a gorgeous classic that you can wear for years.
Here is the back view that shows the back split and length.
Here is a view of the trench all buttoned up. I hardly ever button my coats, but I occasionally use the tie belts to keep them closed. I’m wearing a medium, and their fit is excellent. This coat is on sale at 33% off!
Fall and Winter Coats – Faux Shearling Longline Coat
Relaxed T-Shirt (large – a little oversized) || Low-Rise Bootcut Jeans (8/29 – if between sizes, size down) || Eyelet Brown Belt (med/large) || Waterproof Cognac Mules (TTS) Newer Version || Faux Shearling Longline Coat (Small)
I bought this Faux Shearling Longline Coat during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and it sold out almost immediately. This is a heavy coat, and it is one for you ladies in colder climates. It feels like you are engulfed in a big cozy blanket, and I LOVE the look of this coat. I read all of the reviews on this coat, and I’m confused. I love the coat, and I don’t think it looks cheap. It is faux, so if you expect to pay under $150 for genuine leather and shearling, you live in a fantasy world.
I’ve not worn the coat at length yet, but I’ve tried it on and taken photos with it several times. So far, I’ve not had any problems with shedding, although I would expect any coat of this type to shed some. I keep a lint remover with me in the car, in my kitchen, bedroom, etc., because of sweaters or items like this.
You can see why this is like you’re wrapped up in a large cozy blanket!
Look how thick the pile is on this coat. It is definitely a warm coat that looks super cute. The coat runs big, so I sized it down to a small, which fits me great. Remember to size down if this coat looks like something you need.
