CASUAL FALL STYLE FOR WOMEN OVER 50 THAT DOESN’T LOOK FRUMPY
Women over 50 often get labeled as frumpy or not stylish. Part of the reason we get labeled that way is that we value comfort over style. Today’s outfit from Appleseed’s is a casual fall style that doesn’t look frumpy and is comfortable. I call that a win-win!!!
I love a button-up shirt, especially when it is the no-iron style. This No-Iron Mini Floral Vine Print Shirt in Port Wine is gorgeous for fall. I’m loving burgundy and wine colors this year, so I was immediately drawn to this shirt. A button-up shirt is versatile since it can be worn alone or as a layering piece. Today, I’m going to show the shirt worn both ways. I’m wearing a size 10 shirt, and it fits great with no gaping open.
When I place an order online, this is the way I find clothing that matches. I go to the search bar and type in the color name of the item I’m ordering. Port Wine was the color name of the shirt, and it brought up the perfect Wool Cabled Cardigan in the same color.
I love cable-knit design sweaters, and this one is no exception. It is a nice weight and not itchy. It looks gorgeous over the No-Iron Mini Floral Vine Print Shirt, but I’ll also wear it over a t-shirt. I’m wearing a medium in the cardigan, and it fits great.
Layering is a great way to elevate any outfit. The button-up shirt looks great alone and with the wool cabled cardigan. But, when you add another layer, it takes the look up several notches.
This Camel Wool Balmacaan is warm and sharp looking. It is a classic design that you can wear for years, and the camel color will go with anything. I love this length since it looks great with jeans and dresses; it keeps your body nice and toasty.
I’m wearing a medium coat that fits great over the shirt and sweater. Here is the look when buttoned. I love the hidden button placket, which is a beautiful design detail.
Here is a view so you can gauge the coat length from the back.
These 5-Pocket Zip-Fly Jeans are so comfortable! I put these to the test by sitting in them for a long time, walking, going upstairs, and bending down to pick up items on the floor. The jeans moved with me but never got saggy. I’m wearing a size 8 (my usual size), in the color Dark Wash.
I’ve had these leather Bandolino Classic Navy Slip-On Loafers for several years. I love the slip-on style and how comfortable these are to wear. The cushioned insole and the flexible sole make these flats a winner for days when I have to do a lot of walking. They do run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. These flats come in a HUGE amount of colors and prints, including a Loden Croc print that would be great for fall.
