FALL MAKEUP FOR WOMEN OVER 50 FROM WALMART
I love trying lots of different makeup each month. My skin tone changes with the seasons, so I like updating my makeup. If I don’t try new things, then I cannot know what products I like best. But I don’t want to spend a fortune, so getting my beauty items from Walmart is smart.
I ordered two Revlon Colorstay Longwear Makeup in the same shade because I wasn’t sure which would be best for my skin type. I ended up liking the Normal/Dry in 320 True Beige since my skin runs on the dry side. If you have Combination/Oily skin, then you might like the other version best.
Look at the difference in how my skin looks. It evened out the tone of my skin and took away the redness and blotchiness.
I still need a little help with hiding the dark circles under my eyes. I started using the Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer in 025 Light Beige last month, and I’m still loving it.
It is so easy to use! I love the applicator that is precise and easily blends the concealer into my foundation.
I was looking for a daytime eyeshadow compact that I can throw in my handbag for quick touchups.
The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads in Mocha Motion was a great choice since it is subtle enough for daytime wear. I took a magic marker and wrote on the case where each eyeshadow is to be used.
The compact comes with an applicator, but I used a few brushes I already owned to apply the shadow. I start with the base color and cover the entire lid to the eyebrow.
Then, I apply the lid color up to the crease line.
I use a smaller brush to apply the crease color in a sweeping motion. This shadow is silky and applied easily. I didn’t have any fallout or flaking, so that is a plus.
Finally, I use the darkest color as an undereye liner. I also will use this color on the outside corners of my eye, making sure to connect the top and bottom.
Using the eyeshadow as eyeliner is perfect for daytime, but at night or for an event, I want a bolder look. I ordered the Revlon ColorStay Line Creator Double-Ended Liner because of the two different ways of applying the liner.
One end of the eyeliner is a Kohl pencil. This applied without tugging or pulling and lasted all day.
I’m not used to using liquid eyeliner, so I might have a small learning curve. The reason I wanted to try the liquid eyeliner is that it draws sharp, thin to bold graphic lines.
Can you tell the difference between the Kohl pencil and the liquid eyeliner? The pencil is on the left, and the liquid liner is on the right. I am planning on dressing up as a witch for Halloween to hand out candy, and I want to use the liquid liner for a dramatic look. Since both ends are waterproof, my look should last all day and into the night.
To brighten up my eyes, I used a trick I’ve used for years. The COVERGIRL Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in White Out can bring your eyes to life when applied to the waterline of your eyes.
It is a subtle difference, but can you see the white draws attention to my eyes?
The Revlon ColorStay Waterproof Longwearing Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde is another product I started using last month. I’ve been using this everyday since I bought it, and I love how my brows look.
To set the color and keep the hairs from moving around and getting all wonky, I’ve been using NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel in Clear.
After your eyebrows are filled and colored in, then lightly go over them with the clear gel and let them dry. They’ll stay in place all day and night.
I like using an eyelash primer, but the one I had been using was so expensive. So, I grabbed the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara Primer White Primer, and it is under $9!
When you apply the eyelashes primer, it is white. You let it set until it turns clear, and then you add your mascara.
Now that the primer is clear, I’m going to use Revlon So Fierce! Eyes Wide Open Mascara in Blackest Black.
WOAH! The description said that the “Push Up Brush grips the tiniest of lashes to lift and volumize the lashes,” and I am a believer!
I look a little pale without any blush. The baked blushes intrigue me, so I decided to try the Milani Baked Blush, Corallina.
This is a great pigmented blush, so apply lightly, to begin with. I’ve tried blushes like this before that weren’t pigmented, so I swirled my brush and loaded it heavily with the product. I ended up having to blend and blend to try and get the color I wanted. When using this blush, less is more.
Here is another highly pigmented product. The MILANI Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Dahlia is GORGEOUS!!!
This matte lipstick isn’t drying and is very creamy and velvety feeling. I’ll be wearing this for date nights and holiday parties, but it is a bit too bold for my everyday look.
I prefer a lip stain instead of lipstick, especially for every day. I don’t like reapplying my lipstick, so a lip stain works best for me. The lip stain is Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink in Lippy. It is still bold, but not quite as bold as the Melani Dahlia lipstick.
I’m happy with this month’s Walmart Beauty products haul, and the best part is that they are all available online from Walmart. You can check out last month’s beauty haul on makeup and nail trends by clicking HERE.
Walmart makes it very convenient for its customers to shop, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes. You can also sign up for Walmart+, where you get Free Shipping with no order minimums (excludes most Marketplace items, location & freight surcharges) and Free Delivery (where available) with orders over $35. I take advantage of home delivery several times a week and love that small convenience.
Walmart sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.
