Versatile Separates For Fall
Happy Thursday, ladies. It’s finally cooled off here, so I am jazzed to wear my fall clothes! Today I have a couple of cool weather looks for you with versatile separates that you can mix and match for even more outfits. This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective. Thanks for supporting the brands that support AWSL.
I’ve been hunting for a casual alternative to jeans this fall. I want something with stretch that’s casual but polished looking. These Kut From The Kloth corduroy pants fit the bill beautifully and are very versatile. They arrived with a double-rolled cuff and a 30 1/2″ inseam, but after trying them with booties and shoes, I’ve decided to get them hemmed under because it helps make my legs look longer.
They come in six colors, sizes 00-18, this is Sand. The boyfriend cut is meant to be looser, so you can size down if you want a more fitted look. I went with my regular size. These have a five-pocket classic jean style but are a lovely alternative to denim when you want to step things up a notch. I love how versatile this sand color is, and the straight leg goes with everything.
I’m wearing them with a simple black pullover, similar here, and my super comfy Genna suede loafers. I’m a big fan of Munroe footwear because they’re very supportive and make my feet happy. These come in seven colors, sizes 2A, B, and D, 5-13.
Here are the cords combined with soft taupe shades. I was happy to see Nordstrom bring back my Eileen Fisher knit booties this year. They’re suede in front with knit panels on the side and back. Their low, block heel is super easy on my feet and back, so I can comfortably wear them all day. I have chocolate, and they also come in black.
My Kut From The Kloth Faux Suede Moto Jacket was a huge hit last year, and it’s back in stock this fall in four yummy colors. I have the Purple Haze, which is a cool deep taupe…not purple at all. I love how low profile the snaps and zipper are, unlike many moto jackets. I knew this shoulder bag would be versatile, but I’m blown away by how it continues to coordinate with everything.
Whetherly is a new denim brand for me, and I’m really impressed with how they fit. These are the Pierce high-waist style which are called crops, but with a 28″ inseam, they’re full-length on me. These are a classic mid-wash with tiny distressing on the pockets and nice finished hems. They’re the perfect length for flats and booties.
I added this Nic+ Zoe striped tee in blue and black. It also comes in two other colors. I sized up to a medium, so it would be roomy to wear for Bocce. I topped this look with a fun Nic & Zoe Sleek Jacket. I love its modern lines and minimal detailing, plus the cut-away front gives it an edgy vibe and contemporary feel.
I swapped out the tee for this Vince Camuto polka dot v-neck blouse and velvet cardigan. I’ve had several of these blouses and know that they pack and launder beautifully and are easy to dress up or down. I couldn’t resist this stretchy shawl collar velvet cardigan. With the holidays right around the corner, I know this will come in very handy to toss over so many things.
Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible customer service with free shipping and returns, always. Joining the Nordy club here is free and allows you to earn points towards notes you can use to shop, plus you get free basic alterations. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup. The holidays are right around the corner, and I know Nordstrom is stocked with things for my entire gift list.
Do you look for wardrobe pieces that will be versatile to mix and match?
Thanks for reading, and be sure to wear what makes you feel confident.
