Violent Night Star David Harbour Wants a Sexy Santa Cinematic Universe
Violent Night star David Harbour has joked that he wants a Santa cinematic universe starring fellow “daddies” Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac.
Harbour stars as Santa Claus in the violent black comedy Christmas film that follows Santa protecting a family on an estate from a group of mercenaries.
In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Harbour spoke about what it’s like being known as a “daddy” by fans alongside Pascal and Isaac. Harbour immediately came up with an all-new cinematic universe that fans of the three actors could sink their teeth into.
“We gotta get Pedro [Pascal] and Oscar [Isaac] to play the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy in the next iteration: the Santa cinematic universe with a bunch of ‘daddies’ as imaginary creatures,” Harbour said. “I find it quite funny, and somewhat gratifying to be in my 40s and have this happen because when I was in my 20s and 30s, in what I thought was my good-looking prime, no one cared. I get a little grizzled and start losing my hair, and everyone starts to think I’m sexy, and I’m okay with that.”
Harbour rose to prominence thanks to Netflix’s Stranger Things, in which he plays fan favorite Jim Hopper. Since then, he’s starred in Hellboy and Black Widow as Red Guardian, a role he will reprise in Thunderbolts.
Pascal, who is best known for Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian, has earned the same level of “daddy” adoration as Harbour. Star Wars and Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac is in the same boat. Harbour finds the entire thing amusing.
“I think it’s pretty funny. And I think it’s pretty funny when it applies to Santa Claus. There’s a lot of strange things you can get into about sitting on his lap and telling him what you want for Christmas,” Harbour said. “Being naughty or nice. Even those words, so I get it. I understand. There’s something inherently sexy about a guy who goes to town on a bunch of mercenaries to save a little girl and save Christmas.”
Violent Night hit theaters on December 2.
