An easy neutral outfit with jeans and a blazer
A versatile navy blazer is one of my wardrobe workhorses. Here I’ve styled a favorite navy blazer in a casual outfit with jeans, sweater & sneakers.
This post is sponsored by Nordstrom. All ideas and opinions are my own. None of the items shown were gifted.
A sporty casual look with navy blazer and jeans
I’m wearing size 6 in the jacket, XS in the sweater, 26 in the jeans (this style runs large).
In January, I often find myself leaning toward easy, minimal outfits. It’s a mental palate cleanse, and a way to reconnect with the power of simplicity. Paring back also gives me the opportunity to evaluate my basics and play with silhouettes without a lot of visual distraction.

A navy blazer can skew a bit preppy or corporate (depending on the blazer). The weathered wash of the jeans take the formality down a couple of notches. And I’ve taken the outfit in a more relaxed, sporty direction with the half-zip sweater and sneakers.

I really like this little half-zip sweater! It’s soft, wool-free, and available in four colors and in Plus. (Summers, check out Pink Rapture. If it’s the color shown on the model, this is close to the Rose Madder in your palette. The Purple Villa could also work for you and some Winters. Autumns, check out Green Cilantro, a lighter version of your Spruce.)

Sublime sneakers
I’ve warmed up to sneakers over the past couple of years. There’s just something about a sleek, white sneaker… But my favorite styles are still those that I can slip on. Easy peasy. These are some of the most comfortable yet! The leather is really soft, and there’s good arch support. (According to a Nordstrom Sales Associate, these are a customer favorite.)
Here are a few more white sneaker styles with arch support:
Nordstrom is always my first stop, whether I’m looking for wardrobe basics, shoes, or accessories. They carry a wide range of brands and sizes. And I’ve been impressed lately with their in-house brands. Shipping and returns are free (and hassle-free!).
