Friday miscellany: doctor’s appointments, what I wore & more
Some weeks it feels like the only thing that gets me out of the house is going to doctor’s appointments. 😆 So I dress as if I’m going somewhere fun.
This outfit was comfortable and put me in a good mood before I even headed out the door.
Back in 2006, I had my thyroid removed due to early-stage thyroid cancer. Fortunately between the surgery and follow-up treatment with radioactive iodine, I’ve had no recurrence. But every few years I go in for a neck ultrasound, just to make sure there’s no funny business going on in there. This week’s screening came back clean, not a surprise but always a relief.
Today I’m headed in for my semi-yearly mole check with the dermatologist. Skin cancer runs in my family, and I’ve had a couple of pre-cancerous bits. Fortunately here too, all of the recent checks have been negative. I’m religious about sunscreen, so hopefully I’ll keep that streak going.
