Beautiful and Modest Spring Dresses for Easter and Passover Celebrations

April is only a few weeks away, which means Easter and Passover will be here quickly. I’ve had several AWSL readers ask for my recommendations for spring dresses for Easter and Passover celebrations. This diverse list of flattering spring dresses has something for everyone, no matter if you’re planning to cook a special Easter meal or attend an upcoming Seder. Even if you aren’t religious, these dresses will have you looking and feeling beautiful at all of your spring weddings, showers, brunches, graduations, and more.

I tried to include a wide variety of different dress silhouettes, hemline lengths, and sleeve types. If you like to cover your arms, the etiquette for your event is more modest, or if you live in a chilly part of the country, all of these dresses could be paired with a cardigan or fitted jacket.

1. Cap Sleeve Dress

The blazer style collar and wrap front on this dress is flattering on many body types. The 100% cotton fabric makes it breathable. You can easily accessorize this dress with pops of color in your jewelry, shoes, or handbag. But, if you prefer this dress in a color, I’d suggest the Guava or the Sky Captain Navy.

2. Calvin Klein Printed Short Sleeve Dress

This pretty, colorful dress is fitted through the chest and waist with a looser A-line skirt. The fit and flare silhouette is flattering on many figures and gives the illusion of a waist whether you have one or not. I love that it has sleeves which so many dresses omit these days, but they are bust height, so they can be less flattering on well-endowed women. This would be a dress you could easily wear to a wedding, graduation, or bridal shower after Easter or Passover are over.

3. Floral Cap Sleeve Fit & Flare Dress

Nothing says spring like a floral print. This dress comes in eight colorways, but this striking blue color caught my eye. If you need or would prefer to cover your arms, a white or black cardigan like this would look great.

4. Ruffle Collar Tiered Maxi Dress

If you prefer not to show your legs, a maxi length is a great option. This dress comes in ten different prints and is currently under $40.

5. Maggy London Short Sleeve Crepe Dress

Sheath dresses are timeless and provide such a classic silhouette for women over 50. This dress is currently under $50 (it’s usually over $120! It is available up to a size 14 in the violet color I have pictured here and available up to a size 16 in black, blue, and white.

6. Ruffle Faux Wrap Dress

This faux wrap dress is slimming in all of the right places, and it’s the perfect combination of modest and feminine. It’s available up to a size 18. Plus, it’s very affordable at under $45!

7. Loft Embroidered Shirtdress

Shirtdresses are very popular this year, and I’m seeing them at most of my favorite retailers! I love this eggshell blue color. If you are looking to purchase a dress that you can wear again and again, this is it. It comes in regular and petite, XXS-XXL.

8. Side Tie Sheath Dress

This sheath-style dress looks polished at under $40, and the side tie at the neckline draws the eye upward. It’s available in three additional colors, but I love this deep green for spring. It comes in sizes 4-14.

9. Loft Floral Ruffle Midi Dress

I love a midi-length dress because they hide the knee. If you struggle with crepey skin around your knees, you’ll understand what I mean. I would remove the tie on this dress and add a leather or woven belt to cinch and accentuate the waist. It comes in sizes XXS-XXL.

10. Lauren Ralph Lauren Belted Floral Dress

I look a lot at the scale of a print to ensure it won’t overwhelm my frame, and I love the smaller floral pattern on this belted dress by Ralph Lauren. The half-sleeve is great for spring weather, as well as for more modest locations like a church or chapel.
