IN LIKE A LION, OUT LIKE A LAMB IN A TRENCHCOAT

In like a lion, out like a lamb to April showers bring May flowers. That’s where we are, ladies, and being prepared for the wind (especially in Dallas!) and rain is essential! I have learned the hard way to keep an umbrella and raincoat in my car! I know I showed some Spring coats recently, but with the wind and rain happening everywhere, I thought I would reiterate the importance of a good rain or trenchcoat, like the one (you guessed it!) I’m wearing.

This cotton trench is a classic style in a sandy color with contrasting piping and the most fun hot pink lining repeated in the belt rivets and button stitchwork. It definitely makes a rainy day more bearable! I paired my trench coat with my FAVORITE tee, which happens to be cashmere, and a pair of ivory denim. I am obsessed with the cashmere tees from J. Crew. They come in several colors and are super thin but give some warmth. I love them under my blazers and leather jackets. I have them in black, cream, navy, and green, and I just ordered the light purple. I don’t love to wear rain boots unless it is torrential rain. On most rainy days, I wear sneakers.

A gorgeous tote bag adds an element of chic!

The gorgeous tote bag I am carrying is from Bell’INVITO Stationers. This stunning bag is made of calf leather from Italy and canvas. It has two carry straps with an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap. I love it in ivory, but it comes in several other beautiful colors. All my tote bags are black, so I chose the lighter, “springier” one. This bag is awesome for running errands, work, or travel. I’m taking it with me on a flight this afternoon.

I mentioned above that I am on a flight this afternoon. We are headed to Alabama for a funeral. A long-life family friend of my husband ( I met him when I was 19 ) passed away this weekend. It’s such a tragedy. He was fine about five weeks ago and started feeling strange. Long story short, he was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, essentially Mad Cow disease (huh???). I know he is in a better place, but it’s sad for his family. Ladies, this is why I always say to live largely! If there is something you want to do or somewhere you want to go, there is no better time than NOW!

I hope you all have a great day! Live Largely!!!

Be Well and Stay Safe! xx
